Jean Simonet
Game Developer. Creator of Bomb Squad Academy
I have been working professionally in games for 13 years now, originally in large studios (Oblivion, Fallout, Skyrim) and now as an independent developer. I have lived on three continents, so far. I was born in France, grew up in Gabon, and have been in the States for the last 15 years. I am passionate about systems and simulation, and I hope to make games that take advantage of those. A programmer by trade, I am trying to become a designer as well, so far having some success making an interesting and original puzzle game called Bomb Squad Academy. I am also an avid tinkerer, building robots and electronic kits of all sorts. I'd love to be able to blend my passions more at some point, something that blends game design, programming and electronics.

Pop Mhan
PENCILLER, INKER, COLORIST
Pop Mhan joined Wildstorm Productions in San Diego and studied sequential art under Jim Lee. Pop was the penciller on Spyboy, a comic book written by Peter David and published by Dark Horse Comics, The Dead Seas for Zuda, Blank (at Tokyopop), Batgirl (at DC Comics), He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, Bionicle and World of Warcraft.
Pop has worked for WildStorm, DC Comics, Marvel Comics, Top Cow, Dark Horse and Tokyopop as well as a few other comic publishers for the past ten years. He also has done Star Wars artist sketch cards for Topps and character design work for Hasbro.
Pop's worked on the Gears of War 3 comic book and is currently working on Injustice: Ground Zero (DC Comics)

Hi, my name is Sam Ellis and most people know me as one of the lead designers for Archer on FX. I have several projects in the works and also teach Animation, Story Art, and Concept Design. My advice is to Draw Draw Draw, Be a good person, Be kind to others, Talk to people, Observe things, Put yourself out there, Make cool stuff everyday, Remember your first try wont be good enough, Draw big if you draw small, Draw small if you draw big, Learn some music, Act it out, You don’t know what you don’t know–Sometimes what you first had in mind isn’t the only or best solution.

Boba Studios
Baltimore-based Game Developer
Boba Studios is a game developer based in Baltimore, Maryland. It handles both front- and back-end development of its proprietary software, and launched its debut effort, Squirrely Roo Rabbit, in December of 2016.
Squirrely Roo Rabbit is an in-development color mixing puzzle-platformer game in which a gang of chameleons on a coloring spree swapping the colors of all the animals in their wake, causing confusion and upset. Squirrely Roo Rabbit, who is unaffected due to her not being a traditional animal, teams up with an outcast chameleon, Cammy, to track down Leon, the Chameleon king, and return the forest to normal.

Mikhail Sorokin is a student at the University of Maryland pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science. He has experience in developing virtual and augmented reality applications, and currently holds the presidency of the UMD VR club. The UMD VR club works on He co-founded MPLEX, a VR game company, and currently works both on and VR visualization research.

Jimmy Horner
Animator. Artist. Educator.
Inspired by animations and comics from an early age, Jimmy Horner found his passion by becoming an animator based in Baltimore, Maryland. He works with both physical and digital mediums to create his comics and animations. In college he majored in Visual Arts with a concentration in Animation.
After graduating from UMBC, Jimmy started creating medical animations and advertisements at a company called VueCare Media. One of his animations has aired on Fox after winning two spots in the Gotham Fan Trailer Competition. Jimmy continues to spend his time working on animations and small comics for the web.
At Creator Con, Jimmy will have an animation setup lightbox for attendees to try lessons available and artwork on grid tower.
Penelope R. Gaylord

PENG-PENG (Penelope R. Gaylord) works at Identity Comics Studios as a full-time artist, part-time zombie slayer, & mom of 2 adorable pups. Penelope has created amazing work for Acme Archives Direct, Boom Studios, IDW, and a handful of sketchcard companies as well.
Identity Comics Studios is a group of artists with a love for different art styles and genres who also happens to draw pretty darned well. The studio is based in Maryland and each artist has their own personal projects and freelance work. The studio has come together to create a story from their creative minds called the “Brotherhood of Fighters” with characters designed by each member.

Jerry Gaylord

TheFranchize (Jerry Gaylord) is a Harvey Award nominated artist for MOST PROMISING NEW TALENT for his work on "Fanboys Vs Zombies" (Boom Studios). He is currently working on the upcoming comic "Bill and Ted's Most Triumphant Return" (Boom Studios). Jerry is the artist on "Loki:Ragnarok and Roll" (Boom Studios) and has done cover art for KaBoom's "Adventure Time" & "Regular Show" books. He has done exclusive cover art for the "TMNT/Ghostbusters" comic (IDW). He has worked as a penciller for "New Crusaders:Legacy" (Archie/Red Circle Comics) and "Sonic the Hedgehog" (Archie Comics). He has done work for the "NFL Rush Zone" comic (Action Lab) as well as other indie press projects. TheFranchize is part of Identity Comics Studios.
Kevin is a veteran cosplayer and a fixture of East Coast events in years past. He even appeared as Captain America in a Southern NJ comic shop commercial and as Negan in a local restaurant commercial! You may have seen him as Batman, Captain America, Wolverine, James Bond, The Comedian, and many more, at just about every major convention on the east coast. This year he joins us as a featured cosplayer! His award winning costumes have been featured by multiple online publications including Pop Culture Uncovered, Fan Boy Nation, as well as many others. When not appearing at conventions in his impressive cosplay, Kevin attends charity events as some of his most famous characters, while belonging to The Heroes Alliance and as a founding member of the Philadelphia Avengers.

An Independent Game Designer, trying to do good and make games. Currently a student of Interactive Design at the Maryland Institute College of Art. A member of the IDGA DC I am working on a game call Miracle Mia where I hope to get done and release by next year.
Miracle Mia is an action-adventure platformer where the main heroine must fend off against an invading horde of extradimensional beings with the aid of her tennis racket. She must jump, defend and reflect the enemy's attacks right back at them for her skills in tennis allows her to withstand and channel their projectiles against them.

Visual effects using computer generated imagery have recently become accessible to the independent filmmaker with the introduction of affordable and easy-to use animation and compositing software.
Cracked Crowns
Talented Musicians. Sound Engineers. Writers. Students.
Cracked Crowns was started by Nick Huff and Matt Millie in the summer of 2016. The two met over social media and after one jam session, they decided to form a band. They later recruited Sonny Tu, a bassist that Matt has played with for years, and Cracked Crowns was made. Nick and Matt began writing songs the day after they met and in two weeks they had written four songs to be recorded on their first EP. Soon after they completed the songwriting for their EP, Cracked Crowns began recording their songs at Savage Studios and finished their debut EP, “Hole in the Sky,” in one month. The group combines their musical backgrounds of jazz, rock, and pop in order to create driving beats that are complimented by purposeful lyrics to resonate with younger audiences.
